Default ABS module

I'm wondering if I can replace a bosch 5.0 abs module with a bosch 5.3? I have not found any place that can rebuild a 5.0.

Not sure other than maybe from Bosch or the dealership (or someone here parting out a car), but did you check with www.modulemaster.com? They rebuild a lot of parts for our cars very well.

Do not waste your money rebuilding the module. I tried that and it still did not function on my 2000 a4. After spending money at shops and car down time and waiting for my rebuilt module I did it myself and bypassed the abs module. My a4's abs module would lock brake pressure and not release the calipers. After all the hassle I removed it. It was working but i always had the abs light on. So i took it off and works good. I do not drive my audi fast so i never have wheel lock up problems which is what happens when you no longer have abs. The good thing is i saved alot of money and removed about ten pounds off the front.
I have had this car for 4 years and it is a good car. Some parts are expensive and take some time to find and recieve but I have personilized it to make it easier for me to work on. I have fun times in it with the awesome ride good looks nice interior and killer soundsystem. Do not limit your ideas.
