yep, Audi has TDI's (Diesel engines) out but they aren't in the States except the Q7. Unless they were imported, there are a few here and there but not too many, you see more Jetta TDI's than anything... my roommate has a Jetta TDI.

Check out Audi.com, they should have all the TDI's listed there, I know they have the A3 2010 model featured on their home page right now.

I really want the A4 TDI, so I'm waiting, quite impatiently I might add.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Jetta TDI's but they are all FWD, as far as I can tell, and we have recently moved to an area where it snows. Neither of us has experience driving in snow and would feel better about having the AWD.

Yeah, I'm not to familiar with Jetta's but I have yet to see one that's AWD. For the snow, just get a good dedicated snow tire for the first year and drive slower, I learned to drive in the snow on a little Toyota Corolla, it had awesome snow tires and I never ran into a problem.
My roommate didn't have a problem driving his car in the snow last year even with crappy tires, you just gotta be careful, a little more cautious. Either way I'd go with a good dedicated snow tire and some steelies for winter.

Also be prepared to feel vibrations in your tires when the snow has been around for a while, snow tends to freeze in the bottom of your wheel well, after your tires warm up they will melt the ice and the vibrations go away.

The Audi diesel motor is acutally just as quiet as the gas motor the difference is very minor. Most guests do not know it is a diesel at first. Until you hit the gas and hear the turbo spool its hard to even notice

On the road, few cars can keep up. Audi says the 0-to-62-mph sprint takes 5.5 seconds, and—more impressive—112 mph is achieved in 15.7 seconds. These figures, which we haven’t verified with test equipment, seem absolutely credible. Power is instantly available. Push the throttle, and you get treated to an evil growl as the Q7 lurches forward. We were surprised at the elevated sound level. Audi wants it that way, though, and in fact, it’s almost completely designed into the exhaust system. The 6.0-liter V-12 works smoothly and quietly otherwise.

At 155 mph, a governor kicks in. The theoretical top speed is 171 mph in standard configuration, and 176 mph would be possible with minor tweaks. But the cutoff is fine with us, since it is part of a voluntary agreement by the German auto industry that has thus far helped to keep the autobahn unfettered by an overall speed limit. After all, we prefer a real 155 mph to a theoretical 176.
