Default considering GIAC CHIP, any advice?

I have an 03 B6 A4 1.8T CVT, and am considering a CHIP upgrade. Heard you can add lots of power.

Does anyone know if the chips are transmission specific? Can a chip from a standard transmission run on a CVT?

Are there any other upgrades that I might have to do? Heard exhaust might be...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Johnny

Im not aware of any tranny requirements on the chips. GIAC is a very good company, I know several people who run them. I am not yet, but I will. You dont have to change exhaust, but if you upgrade the exhaust and a CAI, you will notice a nice difference. The only thing I would question is if the CVT has any sort of hp/torque limitations, Im not sure about the durability of it. It does go behind the V6 in both the A4 and the A6 but the V6s dont have the torque that a chiped 1.8T will have. Thats my 2 cents, hope it helps. Good luck.
