No start problem
Hi guys,
First off I would just like to say that everyone on this forum is truly helpful and amazing.
About a month ago I bought a 2nd-hand Audi A4 B5 1998 1.8 for a very good price. Generally, everything looked okay (despite a few cosmetic issues). The car was fitted with a gas system - which I had removed upon purchase (I just don't trust those things). So far, apart from a dead battery and a burst water pipe, I haven't had any real problems until now.
A week ago I parked in front of my house (it is on a downhill slope). The next morning, the car started and idled but when I depressed the gas, the idling dipped and died. Since then it doesn't want to start - it does however turn over. Currently, my fuel level is just below the quarter tank mark (could be less due to the downhill angle) - could that somehow be causing this? Or are there more deep-seated gremlins at play? I have checked the fuses - and found 4 of them blown which I have replaced.
Your help would really be appreciated.
