Default Uneven/Awkward Acceleration on 2011 Audi A3 Manual

Hey Everyone,

I've had my car for a couple years now, and I've noticed a couple annoying things that I'm hoping to fix.

When accelerating in 1st gear, there is initially a response lag after I press the pedal down. I don't if this is just the fuel making its way through the lines or what...

But the bigger problem is the uneven acceleration that occurs after that. Around 2500rpm in 1st gear, the acceleration jumps up all of a sudden (without an increased throttle input). This can make shifting very awkward, seeing that I like to shift in normal city driving between 2000-3000 rpm.

Is this caused by a computer setting that instructs the engine to increase acceleration automatically at 2500 rpm? Or could it be something mechanical?

The other thing that makes me think there might be a problem is, a couple times while sitting in traffic nursing 1st gear, I have experienced a sudden boost in acceleration (again without a corresponding throttle input). This, accompanied by the occasional idle abnormality make me think that there might be something mechanical, but the 2500rpm problem seems like a computer programming problem.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks!

KV
