Hey
Just wanted to warn the people out there that are looking for Audis in the So. Cal. area. Don't go to Pacific Audi in Torrance, if you're planning on getting a new car! While car-shopping I decided to stop by that place. It was almost time for them to be closing for the day, and I was looking at cars on their front lot. Then, I see an employee, who was in charge of bringing the cars in the front lot to the back lot for the night, get in a brand new TT-quattro, turns it on, and right after the engine starts, he pretty steps on the accelerator revving the car to what sounded very close to redline, on a very low milage, turbocharged, and cold engine. Then peels out of the front lot, cutting off a car, and turns into the back lot. Few minutes pass, he comes back up front, and peels out of the lot in an A4.
Seeing that made me not want to buy any car from them. who knows what they'll have already done to it...

Well, I just had an awesome experience with this dealership. The salesman was very knowledgeable, took plenty of time with me and didn't even give hesitation to helping me when I walked in a t-shirt, ball cap, and cheap tennis shoes. I got a call 2 hours before close at the end of February and they were desperate to sell 1 more A3 to make the monthly quota. I recevied 3 more calls within the hour and an offer that was nearly $2k less than we had talked about in our original negotiations and they were continuing to throw things in to seal the deal. I showed up 30 minutes before close and ended up getting my new A3 - MT6 Lava Grey, Sport, Sky, Bose, Sirrius, Paint Protection, and a ball cap for $27,200! Lucky for me, that my A3 was parked in the back in the same spot during the whole time I was dealing with him, approximately 1 month. You just got to wait and make the deal when you can. This was the only car like it in the So. Cal area and exactly what I wanted and exactly what I'd purchase if I had to build it from scratch.

I guess only buy the cars in the back, not the ones out front?

Additionally,

I finished the paperwork quickly since I made the deal the last 1/2 hour they were open to quickly get in the car and go. I was going through the paperwork and manuals over the following week and didn't see anything about the paint protection that they were throwing in to sweeten the deal. I went back to the dealership and the manager instantly recognized me and asked how my A3 was doing. I informed him that I didn't see the paperwork on the paint protection and he said the he remembered offering that as part of the deal, and looked it up on the computer and it wasn't listed. He immediately got the finance person to help set me up in the plan and I was on my way again. That is the meaning of integrity in my book. We had a verbal agreement, but he already had everything signed and done as far as he was concerned. The MSRP was $600-$700 for the protection plan, and I know that it costs him only a fraction of that amount, but what a stand-up thing to do. They've got my service contract maintanence for sure! After 50k, I'll do it myself.

I went to this place also. I a sorry to say, they are not on the up and up. Kill em with kindness. I hope you got a good deal b/c they tried to screw me. Bottom line, go in with cash DO NOT finance through the dealership.

I bought my 04 A4 from there and I am very happy with the service I get from them. Of course I did alot of homework on the car befor I set foot in a dealership. When ever the car goes in for service I allways have a loaner car waiting for me and when I go to pick up my car it is allways washed and ready to pick up. Pacific Audi has always treated me great! there has been times that I go in right from my shop all dirty and looking like a bum and have allways been treated with the up most respect. they have allways been nothing but great to me and that is why I will contiue to go there even though it's an hour drive each way for me.

Sorry if I'm kicking a dead horse but I just want to vent off alittle steam about my own recent experiences with Pacific Audi in Torrance. I just took my A3 in for it's 15K service. I know it had an error code addressing the "Fuel Pressure Regulator" because I have a VAG-Com interface for my car from Ross-Tech. But when they called me back to tell me the car was ready for pickup in only two hours, I had to question if they found any error codes. The service manager said "absolutaly not". Maybe this isn't a big deal, but I just want anyone else who deals with this dealership to know this. You can make your own assessment.

T2T,

I guess that's better than them finding your ECU needs to be replaced and doing it without prior knowledge. That'd really make you made!

How's the lil white rocket doing anyway?

Chef,
the A3 is running well. How's your's? Have you decided to chip yet? As for replacing my ECU, if they did it under warranty, it honestly wouldn't bother me. I would rather they do that than not tell me when something was wrong with the car and, worse, try to hide it because they didn't want to make a warranty repair. Maybe the sevice attendant really didn't know there was an error code. All I'm saying is that there was an error code and it was erased without anything being done. I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me that there was an error code but they felt it was a none issue or if they felt the error code was because of something I was doing to the car.
Although, I do appreciate the fact that Audi, including Pacific Audi, does provide this service for free and who can really complain about that? Not to mention, they do have an awesome coffee bar and it's free too!!!!

T2T,

I have decided to chip the car, unfortunately finances are a little tight at the moment so that'll have to wait a little while. The car is still great without it, but the mod bug is definitely biting. My car is running great at the moment and I'll be visiting Pacific Audi in about a month for the 5K service, so we'll see how they deal with my car.

Take care!

I got mine at Pacific Audi and I bought it from Mike Smuck. He's a good guy, not too difficult to deal with, and ultimately, a straight-shooter when all was said and done.
The Sales Mgr. there is a bit of a whiney twit, his name is Chris something and he's not really going to do much to help your process. Work through your sales guy and hope he does a good job arguing for you.
Also, the 2 girls that work the finance dept. are friggin' hot. That's probably on purpose, but who cares - they're not tough on the eyes and make the paperwork side of the transaction a breeze.

As far as the service dept., I have not been to have it serviced yet, but I'll post back if the experience is a bad one.
At the moment, I'm a happy customer and I thought they did a great job. It took me approx. 2 hours from the minute I walked in before I was done and on my way.
