Engine Seized Rod Through Engine
Hello,
I am looking for feedback on my situation. I have a 2009 Audi A4 which just seized up because the piston rod went through the engine. There were no prior warning lights or indication that there were issues. Audi recently (less than 6 months ago) replaced the pistons in the car as part of the class action suite for excessive oil consuption. The dealer has informed me that my issue is not related to the work they performed. I would disagree with the dealer as this is a very unusual occurance, and they were the last to work on the car, specifically on the engine/pistons etc. In my opinion, it is very likely that the tech did not properly torgue the piston end caps or somethig similar, and this is what resulted in the damage occuring. Since a new engine is priced over the value of the car, its not really an option for me to replace the motor, but I do feel however that the dealer should be accepting either full or at least partial responsibility.
Thanks
