Paint discoloration - help!
I just came home from college, my mother had been borrowing my tt for work (gulp) and I noticed a huge region on the right rear of the car has some kind of white discoloration. It doesn't seem like it's on the surface but within the paint. Any ideas on how to fix this ugly problem?
Here are some links to pictures of the damage:

any help is appreciated

oh snap I'm almost positive that those are some serious acid rain etchings. Show probably drove through a sprinkler and didn't even think that it was non potable water. That **** eats clean through auto paint...
If its as bad as I think it is from the pics that panel might need to be repainted (make the biatch pay for it). Look at it through a magnifying glass and post if it looks like tiny pock marks through the clear coat.

Damn dude, I'm about 99% sure those are hard water stains from well water. I would take a clay bar to it and see if it gets rid of it. Hard water stains can be removed, but it's gonna take some work. Just take your time with the clay, and wax it after you clay it. I might be salvageable. If not, your gonna need a respray.
