Default Rim Dust and Leather discoularation.

I just bought my first A4 and I need some advice. I'm getting a lot of rim dust and was wondering if anyone had advice on how to prevent it happening? Or if there is a way to clean it and make it look newer longer?

Also, I got some leather discolouration...and was wondering if there is any polish that would recolour the black leather safely. Its just one spot.

thanks.

Hey man congrats on the a4. I just bought my first one 3 months ago. I had the same exact problem as far as the brake dust on the rims. Probably worse on the front wheels right? What I did was go to Strauss and I was looking at different wheel cleaners and ended up buying the Strauss brand rim cleaner for 5 bucks. It says it's a spray on and hose off cleaner but I prefer to use it with cotton towels and clean it by hand, more efficient. If the dust is really bad, then I spray it on, hose off, wash my car and then clean the rims again with the spray by hand to get the leftover dust off. It works awesome, completely cleans off the dust and makes the rim look awesome. I didn't want to spend like 10 bucks on another brand but the Strauss brand works like a charm for me. It's in a black windex-like bottle. As far as the leather, you might want to try the Meguire's Leather Cleaner spray. Good luck!

I have a HUGE brake dust issue on my BMW. The best product I have found is Simple Green. They make a Crystal version as well which is better, but sometimes hard to find. It is spray on, rinse off and works very well. It is basically a bio-degradable, non-toxic, non-caustic industrial degreaser.

Yeah, brake dust is a pain. Another option is to look into other brake pads come time to change them. Carbon Metallic pads will cut back on the dust LOT, but wont get rid of it altogether...
