Will it buff out??
I recently was the victim of a hit and run and am now faced with yet another issue concerning damage to the car. It appears someone had opened their car door into my rear passenger door and left a decent mark.
I will obviously ask the body shop to see if they will be to repair this as well, but in the event that they can't, what is the process to try buffing as much of the damage out as possible?

Most body shops usually detail your car after performing any kind of work that involves painting, which I'm assuming you will need from the hit and run. If they can't do a "quick fix" on your door, they will probably be able to buff it out for you.
how bad is the scratch? if it is deep enough to be felt by your fingernail more then likely it cant be buffd out with out burning through the clear coat of the paint. so what they might do is just repaint that small section and blend the paint to the rest of the area
The area in question does not feel deep at all. I am no expert, but what it seems to be is paint transfer. The body shop is painting my trunk and blending it with the rear bumper, quarters and even running up over the doors to the front quarter panels for a "complete" blend. I plan on asking them how they want to go about it. I'm hoping it's something they can address without painting.....I don't want more added to the final cost.
