Default 08 A2 - Concert II - can it play mp3 files?

I'm ordering a new 08 A3 - and I know the 6 disk Symphony II can play MP3 files ... But since I'm going to get the iPod adapter - I didnt see much benefit in the Symphony II.

Can the Audi Concert II AM/FM stereo with single in-dash CD player - play mp3 files on a cd?

Is there much difference [ amp / speaker / qudio quality wise ] between the 2 units aside from a larger display and 6 disk capability?

I cannot seem to get or find a straight answer, my sales rep says the 08 can... but I cannot verify it online on the Audi site.

Anyone know?

Thanks !

If you decide to take his word for it, get it in writing!

My sales guy (and his service department) swore up and down I could have both the Ipod adapter and Sirius on the Concert II in my '06 A3. Funnay how after picking up the car, it didn't work, and they ended up calling the factory to confirm that it was not possible. As for MP3's, I don't know about your '08, but my '06 will NOT play MP3's.

MP3 just means you can compact more music per CD because of the format which render the old CD changer dead in comparison, Ipod is the way to go
