My 2005 A6 MMI suddenly went out. Nothing is working. Radio, Nav, etc. I took it to the Audi dealership and they are asking for $1,800.00 for a replacement MMI computer. I am not well informed on Audi specs as I am a first time buyer.

Can anyone tell me what exactky the part is? Have you seen or heard of this issue? Can I get it for a lower price? Since I am going to have to get a replacement, is there any good upgrades that will give my Ipod connectivity, TV/DVD capabilities, and/or back up camera?

Any suggestions would be very much apprecited.
