Default 2006 Audi A3 - Electrical Issues - HELP!!!!

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me exactly what this "module" is called?

2006 Audi A3 Parts - Audi Parts | Audi Wholesale Parts | Audi Accessories | Cheap | Discount Audi Parts

It's #13 on the list. It's located right under the steering column. Looks like a hard drive for a PC.

Car is having all kinds of electrical issues where the dash lights turn on and off. Affects the speedometer, RPM gauge, gas gauge and every light on the dash. Also, the car will turn over and then just die. Eventually starts after a few tries but a mechanic said it's that "module".

Any thoughts out there?

Thank you!

Jon

Hi I am pretty sure that this is the power control module. On my audi 2002 a4 it is the J519. This controls the lights, turn signals, wiper blades and washer system and horn and maybe other things. The steering wheel, instrument pannel have there own modules which comunicate via a databus with this module,

There are many different control modules on audi cars. Some of the problems you are describing seem to be a problem with the instrument panel.

Hope this helps slightley but dont take any of my reply as gospel, I am no expert

thx jim

J519 takes me to a screen in Etka very different from the one in your link (that is to be expected since those are not etka pictures in the online catalogs), but J519 is height control for steering module for the newer cars. The comfort module could be a problem. I see a couple choices in the 304-371 dollar range. Did you happen to get a code like J519 or some other SDC type code like that? Maybe see a part number on that module on the column that you need? Any extra info on it? If not let me know and I'll check into this further for you if needed.

That is called electronic module for steering column combination switch. P/n you gave is good and the most up to date, retail for 418.00, your price 336.91 plus 10-12 dollars shipping and takes 3 days to get to us first. Thank you for the number, that made it much easier. There is no sales history on it from us, we either never sold it, or never sold it in the last 3 years or so. Stock in Audi warehouses across the nation tells me it's not a hot seller in the US either. Of course this doesn't mean yours is not bad.
