hey guys...first post over here. I had an 02 wrx for the past few years, and for the second time I spun a bearing due to loss of oil pressure. My vf34 turbo apparently had a seal leak during a trip back to college and right as i was 10 minutes out from town I heard the rod slapping against the crack case wall..checked the oil...mostly gone, and the turbo outlet was completely saturated with oil...strangely no lateral compressor play...subaru wouldnt cover it this time...so for now I picked up an 1996 a4 2.8..did a little reasearch and chose this model on purpose due to lack of modability (tryin to save money and not blow another motor). Anyways..now that I gave a little introduction my main problem right now is the deck in the car says "safe" I was told by the previous owner that the anti theft mode was activated for some reason. Is there any way to make this deck operational again by myself..or would I need to pay the dealership a visit? Been kickin around the wrx forums for 5k posts so i know how everyone is on searching before posting..so i tried a search but came up empty handed! Thanks guys!

 

You should have a SAFE code located in your owners manual or it could be located in the trunk wheel well for the spare tire.
