Default 97 a6 delta head unit w/ ipod hookup

has anyone tried hooking up the 97 delta head unit with an ipod, without using the cassette. i want to try to keep the head unit, but i read somewhere that the head unit doesnt have an Aux plug in the back. any ideas?

I've been thinking that perhaps it is possible to wire up an adapter that would plug into the CD changer port, which would obviously only work if you were not already using an Audi CD changer.

I'm guessing that if you had a pin-out for that connector, you could lop off one end ofa standardpatch cord (that would normally be used to go from iPod headphone jack to a car stereo that had a front Aux input jack) and wire that end to the left and right channels.

Another possibility may be a wired FM transmitter made by Harmon Kardon that interfaces through the antenna connection on the car's stereo. It is made to work with their Drive + Play iPod car adapter. I have yet to find enough info on it to know if it would work without the rest of the Drive + Play system.
