2001 a4 keeps running with ignition key out. I disconected the ignition swith and it still keeps running. Any help would be great.

 

do you have an amplifier or any other aftermarket power source drawing power? if so i have the same problem. i hooked my subs and amp up to my car like a regular car and everything worked fine. stock stereo, ran the rca off the rear speakers yada yad yada and today i tried to shut my car off and it wouldnt so i had to stall it. once i did this it wouldnt start again untill i disconeted my negative battery terminal and jumped a wire from the negative terminal on the car to the possitive on the battery(no worrys no sparks or anything) then hooked the negative terminal back up to the battery and the car started, also my gauges wouldnt shut off once i stalled the car. once i got the car running again it wouldnt shut off once again. i had a few people tell me to unhook my amp wire and it might work, sure enough it works perfect again so i was wondering if this was a comun problem and if there was anyway to fix it, (not to hijack this thread but it sounds like the same type of problem)

any help would be awsome because i want my stereo back

do you have a turbo timer???

just asking, we never know.

 

i dont have a turbo timer or anything aftermarket other then the amp and subs, i dont even have an aftermarket deck. not sure about the other fella
