Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what went wrong and what I can do to fix this.

I have a 2007 A6, MMI High 2G, version 3.3.60 installed. Recently got the car.

I replaced my factory CD player with a GROM-MST3 device. I had some trouble with powering the device at first, and there was a brief point where the MMI started up for maybe 15 secs then powered down. I also did some reboot/resets (along with a voodoo chant). Then I tightened up the wires/connection from the GROM using their instructions (wires on the CD harness) and the optical cables, I got the GROM to power up per usual and I can play audio with it. I'm pretty sure this installation process/futzing is where I aggravated the Audispirits and may have caused the MMI system to reset or otherwise lost its list of things that are attached.

So, at this point I have FM, GROM (as CD), and Navigation.

But I DON’T HAVE steering wheel controls, rear camera, or telephone. Weird thing – when I press Siri on my phone the telephone shows up on the dash display (so it sort of is still bluetoothing, but I can’t hear or control it). Switching to telephone on the MMI controls says “telephone not installed”.

A little more info: I do not have a VAG-COM, but I did borrow a friends VAG401 device and it gave me some information, which I assume might indicate something:
