Default Another Airbag Question

In March brought my TT in with the airbag light on. They reset it and this is what is written up: 42500 Fault D/S AI bag fault D/S side air bag suggest replace.
39 C3

At the time of resetting they tell me the light will probably come on again. The light is now back on for about a month and I'm due for my annual inspection by the end of July. They call to tell me that they have held onto the new bag all this time, I'm thinking just waiting for me to call them again so they can replace it before the inspection.

Also, I'm wondering if I may have accidently caused this problem in the first place because I have the habit of exiting the car and while pivoting my body jab my elbow into the exact position of the airbag to help raise myself out of the seat. Any thoughts would be appreciated !!!!!
