Recently purchased a 2001 allroad with the 2.7T. Love the car with one complaint - the turbo lag. Last night I found a site where about 30 people had reviewed the car, and almost every one of them also complained about it. With a little research I found an outfit, APR, who makes an ECU upgrade they claim eliminates most of the lag, and adds 57 hp. I'm wondering if anyone here has that in their car? I'm specifically wondering about what it does to the mpg. I know it has to lower it, but how much? There is a guy who autocrosses with us in SCCA that runs a local shop, and is an APR dealer so eventually I'll talk to him, just wondered what people here know and think about this ECU upgrade.
