I love the sound quality of the Bose system that I currently have, and as far as I know, its very difficult to find a stereo system that will replace your old one and use all the features of the Bose system. So I am wondering, If I buy this (link below) how would I go about connecting it for best sound quality. I saw that there are kits to connect an ipod through the cd changer cable and keeping the changer, can I wire this up instead? Would it work well or be a hassle?

Also thinking of getting a slightly stronger subwoofer, can I do that or is it not possible with the bose system config?

Thanks for all the help.

YOU can use this to install it, this is the dash kit, wireing harness (industry standard color coded for easy install), antenna adapter, and stock radio removal tools, I would suggest picking up another pair of these (4 all together) and have a friend help you out with the removal.. this will work with all of your speakers, you will loose CD changer if you have one, and the radio/ cd track display in the instrament cluster..

Should be Metra part #
Metra Electronics Corp. 70-1784
or
Metra Electronics Corp. 70-1787
im thinking the 70-1787 is the right one, because it has RCA low level inputs, which is what you normaly see on factory amplified car harnesses..

The Bose doesnt give you enough bass IMO to be worth the money of swaping it in. My buddie has a bose system in his A6 and the whole system sounds slightley louder than mine... what I would do is get a small 8 or even 10, nothing real high powered, in a small box with a small amp 50-100Watts RMS. that will give you some nice clean bass with out being too expensive.
