Default Bose front Speaker problem

I've got kind of a weird problem: the front drivers side speaker sounds terrible when its cold, buzzes in lower tones, but returns to normal as the interior warms up. Its in 2001 A4 Avant w/ Bose concert system. I did a search here but didn't find any help. Any clues? Thanks.

speculation: a wire to one of your speakers in that door is only partially connected. As the heat expands the materials around the wire, it regains a full connection. Sounds like you should pop the door pod off and check for a loose wire.

Thanks, pardon the newbie question, but does the grill pop off or do I have to remove the entire door panel? 2001 A4 avant.

No problem! You will have to take the whole door panel off. Its a fairly simple process. Here is your link! http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Audi/C5...Front_Door.pdf

go to VAGlinks.com as well...soooooo much info for Audi owners!
