BT adapter for OEM analog phone jack?
Is there an adapter on the market anywhere that would allow you to plug in a BlueTooth adapter into the analog phone jack that is in the center console?
I have a 1999 A6 Avant Quattro 2.8t with an OEM analog phone inside of the center console/armrest. I powered it up today and tried to dial a number and it told me to call 611 for assistance. I did, only to find out that service is provided via Cingular, which happens to be my cell provider as well. I figured that it is probably pointless to try to activate that phone since analog is an aging technology that most companies are trying to do away with. Besides, I don't know where to find the IMEI number for the phone to activate it---which brings me back to my question:
Is there an adapter out there that will fit in that jack so that I can have full functionality of the OEMphone kit that has been installed?
Or...
Does someone out there have info as to how that jack is pinned? I can take a data cable for my phone, cut off the USB adapterand frankenstein a cat-5 plug on the other end and bypass BlueToothas well as my 12 volt charging cable altogether.
The latter of the two sounds like a more viable option. Let me know either way and thanks in advance.
