Default BULB MALFUNCTION with new HID KIT

Hey everyone,

I ordered a High Intensity Discharge conversion kit for my 2003 Audi A4 Avant.
The new fog light kit was installed and both fog lights look and work great. BUT now I have an error light (I have OCD and this annoys me to the nth degree).
The mechanic told me he used the original relay, so im not sure if that is the problem. One form said to make sure I run the kit through the supplied cancellers or it will trip the malfunction. ANY IDEAS??? THANKS!!!

you running power to the ballast right from the stock harness or using relays? You do need to run load equalizers most of the time when doing an after market HID set up. I went though that whole thing on my 05 B6 A4.

^^^ this. The B6 freaks out with aftermarket HIDs run directly from the bulb harnesses.

The mechanic said he just plugged n played them (fog lights). I bought the notto se ones from car id. He used the stock relays that we're on the fog lights. Not the ones supplied. Would changing that fix it? And someone told me to run it through the cancellers? What does that mean? Thanks guys

So the message is the dynamic headlight dimmer malfunction. Which is weird because he only installed the fog lights... Although he did take the headlights bulb out and back in again. Is that error message ont for headlights or could it trip with fog lights too?

fogs have their own warning light separate from the low beam warning.

as for the cancelers, it is basically a resistor.
and here is a link to a product that should fix it http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Er...minator-3-PAIR

THANK YOU! My mechanic is gonna take a look at it Monday. One of the fog lights turned off for no reason today so I think the resistor will fix that. I'm still confused as to why the "dynamic headlight malfunction" would go off if he didn't mess with the headlights much... Ideas? Thanks again

So the mechanic just told me he thinks the kit already has he cancellers installed in the ballast. I don't think that's right though? I think I'm gonna try those cancellers if we can't fix it
