RE: changing radio
erally you dont need to do any bypassing. If its the same as my A4 then you have 6x9s that have little amps built onto them, i just RCAed my rears and hooked them to the rear outpu of my deck, and hooled the fronts up normal. as long as that thing doesnt have a "Premium" system on it you should be able to do the same. hope that helps.

RE: changing radio
if your runnign the bose you would have to bypass. its easiest and most accurate sound this way. bose speakers have really weird resistances and most aftermarket decks wont be able to power them cleanly withought clipping the signal

RE: changing radio
I guess my question isnt out of line then. I have a 2001 TT with BOSE. My changer is off track, so I want install my new head unit. I was going to just run it through the factory amp, but I guess after reading around it isnt such a good idea. I havent taken any panels of yet to check out the rear set up, including the factory sub. I guess the best way is to run new lines to the speakers and use my head unit rear out puts??? What if I replace the rear speakers, can I then use the factory amp?
Thanks
