I must be stupid, having such a hard time finding something so minor.

96, 2.8 with wood trim and single DIN head unit. need to remove the head unit (thus remove the trim?) to put in my aftermarket one.
didn't think this would be so hard to find.

i'm sure it's here somewhere, sorry for this.

You don't need to pull the dash appart. there are two small slots on the bottom of the head unit where you slide in the removal tools. The tools, which look like keys hook and release the tabs that hold it in place. You can find them all over ebay or at your localaudio shop. I made my own from a sheet of copper.
