Headlight warning driving me crazy!
I got my A4 without the lighting package so I immediately after purchasing got an HID conversion kit installed. At the time of installation the tech explained that since the factory bulbs are in essence disconnected the computer will warn me that there is a problem with the headlights. He said this is normal on all audi's and that there is not much he can do to get rid of it, which makes sense to me. I dont care much about the warning on the dash but what really is getting to me is the constant beeping!!! every time the computer decides to blink the warning about the front headlights and fog lights not working. Sometimes it beeps continuously non stop. I kinda got used to it especially since I always have my system blasting and never hear it anyways, but its not cool when you are on a romantic date or something and the darn thing goes crazy and then you have to explain why your brand new car is constantly beeping. Anyways so my question is. Is there a way to fool the car into thinking the lights are ok? If not can I at least somehow kill/disconnect the chime/beep?
Thanks
Thanks
I also purchased an 02 A4 w/o Xenon's.. I ended up installing a Texon 6500k HID conversion kit (using their balasts and ignitor) and initially had the headlight warning problem. I ended up removing the relay between the lights and balast.. connecting the stock headlight wires directly to the balast. No more warning; works just fine for me.
