What up audi world, Im a new jack to this and Im feeling lost. I just picked up an 01 A4. It didnt come with a manual so I have NO idea what is what. The car is at the shop getting some digs taken out of it and the guy at the shop tells me he has to unplug the bat at night cause around the door handle is getting hot and he has no idea how to turn it off! I dont know if there is a way to control it, Im thinking a switch should be the answer but I dont know what switch controls it!! If anyone has an answer for PLEASE help!!

Some models are fitted with lock defrosters which are activated by a switch: When the doors are locked and the drivers doorhandle is pulled up, the heating element starts defrosting your doorlock. seems that this microswitch is jammed. ofcoarse it's located inside, near this doorhandle...

 

Hey, Thanks but this thing kept killing the battery so what I ended up doing was buying amanual and locating the fuse and just taking it out. Things have been just fine now.
