Installing aftermarket Head unit
Hey, im new to the boards, and tried searching for this, with no luck. Hopefully this weekend ill be gettin my 96 audi a4, which i traded for my bike(get more use out of the quattro then i would my bike so i figured might as well.) Anyways, the car doesnt have a cd player in it, and i happen to have one that I would like to install. I checked crutchfield.com to see what i would need, and it says something about needing an adapter to eliminate some crap. (this thing) Anyways, basically what i need to know, what do i need to install a alpine CDA-7873 into a 96 a4 without bose system option. Whats needed and where can i get it cheap. Id rather do the install myself then take it to a shop.
Thanks
Mike
Thanks

RE: Installing aftermarket Head unit
You'll need this to remove the radio...
You'll need an adapter because audi radios are a little bit wider than DIN sized. Scoshe makes an adapter for our cars.
You'll also need a wiring harness, unless you feel like cutting off the Audi plugs.

I'm looking to do the same thing. So I need
adapter plateremoval tool
and the adapter harness. I can't find a link to one though.
