Default MP3 / BT addition to A3 2004 with Concert II / CD-Changer / Blaupunkt NAV

Hi folks,

I need your advice / tips for a small upgrade on stereo/bluetooth.

I've recently acquired an A3 2.0FSI 2004 Ambition with the Concert II with 6-CD changer in glove box, active speakers (non-bose), plus the Blaupunkt Nav with the CD in the boot. It doesn't have any controls on the steering wheel though. This is the German/Swiss model by the way.

Now, I'm looking to add MP3 and Bluetooth (hands-free calling) to the car. I don’t want to replaced the HU if possible. Looking around, it seems that my options are the Xcarlink Model V with BT, a Dension unit (not sure if this works because it seems that most models require steering wheel control), or a Zemex unit which seems to be the same as the Xcarlink. From what I can tell, I can keep the CD-changer if I get the Xcarlink, but does the NAV still work as well?

Can anyone advise on which is currently the best and compatible; difficulty of install; or have any other recommendations/suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks mate. Looks good. I'm sure that I can use an idea or two from that.
