Default Question about subwoofer install on 2000 A4 bose system!

Tutorial:http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...tml&category=4

ok so in the tutorial he says use a high-low converter after the amp, but then the guy corrects it saying not to use the high low converter and instead just wire in rca outputs, in the image i drew, the 1 is with the high low conv. and the 2 is the other way which he said is better by wiring in rca outputs Before the stock amp using the low level inputs, so #2 is the correct way right?

also what part do i need for the rca outputs? do i need this? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...LRAIC2-SW.html
or this? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...he+LOC-80.html

I LOVE the diagram! I think that part of your answer depends on what type of inputs the amp that you're going to use for your subs has. Some amps (usually lower end amps) have both line level (rca's) and speaker or higher level inputs. A lot of amps (especially higher end amps) only have line level (rca) inputs. The idea being that the line level inputs provide better sound. I would think that the simplest route would be to take the wires coming from the Bose amp going to the rear deck subs and cut into them and use that to run to your sub amp. If your amp has both the speaker level and the line level inputs, you can run those wires right into the speaker level inputs. If it only has rca inputs, then you'll need the line level converter

to run to the rca inputs of the sub amp. Since the Bose amp has already taken out all of the mids and highs from the signal it sends to the subs, you'll be all set, although you won't have much room for adjustment. Or, you could tap into the signal before it gets to the amp, but I think that would be trickier.
