Has anyone installed a Valentine V1 radar/laser detector in their car? and if you have did you build it into the car anywhere or just put it on the dash? i've seen it installed in the back dash of a BMW behind the passenger headrests and the owner said it worked great. comments

 

If you seach the forums for Valentine 1, you'll find a few posts on the subject that might give you some insight to what others have done.

I have one... It's placed right beneath my rear view mirror and I have it hard-wired with the wire running along the headliner down to the fuse panel. It works great and blends in quite well - especially considering that it's black with red lighting just like the interior of my A3.

There's supposedly a mod out there that will allow you to connect your V1 to the display console so you can see the arrows and signal where you would typically see the radio stations being displayed next to the speedometer, but I don't know if anyone ever finished working on that. There's also a stealth install, which will put a little stealth module right on the driving cluster. See here for some various install methods for V1s in different Audis.
