Default Rrrrrradio Rrrrrrrrreception with aftermarket

Yea

I have the D3 installed and love it - with one exception. My FM radio reception is junk. Actually Junk would be a compliment. I am using the standard VW adapter and DO get some reception - but I'd love to know what adapters some of you DIYers have used with good results.

I'm not even talking about the lack of AM entirely at this point... just the FM.

I have an 04 A4 and the Avic D3. Sweet unit, by the way.... looks tight with all the red icons and buttons... awesome iPod integration. But again.... no radio...

Thanks!

Audi can't make up their mind if they wanted to keep the onboard antenna amplifier, but I'd check if your radio's wired properly - including the power antenna wire, as this could trigger the oem amplifier. If everything looks good, I suggest you get an aftermarket in-line RF amplifier, like this:

Its kinda simple..... Aftermarket radio fm is no where near as strong as OEM systems.... kinda sucks, but you can get a "bottster" type thing but ehh idk usually odnt work well... Use IPOD or SAT radio....
