quick question: whats a turbo timer?

to my knowledge it is a system that keeps your turbo running til all of the oil is gone and so the oil cant harder and hurt your turbine. is this correct? if its not please explain what it is? and if its not then what im i thinking about?

from what i'm aware it keeps it running for a while so that the oil doesn't cake on the turbine and eventually damage your turbo. i have one in my 2000 A4 1.8T fwd and it works good. i think i have the same one that you're talking about actually, but from what i'm aware of, no, you can't, but then again, i only wanted to get it in so i didn't really read the directions. but i don't think so, but you can always google it and find out for sure. i wanted mine red to match the rest of teh interior but it didn't work that way. oh well! it works and that's all that i need :-)

yes that is correct..look on wikipedia for a full explanation and as for the color look in the manual or you can always change the lens or bulb to mess with the color
