I was wondering if anyone knew if i could take the symbol on the back of my car off to paint it? i read some threads saying i can take it off with a hair dryer and floss, but can i put it back on afterward? I just want to paint it, or would i be better of just taping around it really carefully? If it helps my car is a 1999 audi a4. thank you!

 

fishing line not floss. floss will shred. a hair dryer should help, but might not be necessary.

 

before you remove the rings, lay some blue painters tape down so you'll know exactly where the rings are supposed to be. Go to the local auto shop and look for this:
