Default Transparent Bra

Has anyone actually invested in a transparent bra? I drive about 100 miles a day on the really bad LA freeways/streets so I need to protect my car. Is it worth it or should I go with the regular leather ones?

Do NOT go with the "leather" bras. (They're really not leather.) These will leave a black mark. They will also cause paint problems over time.

The clear bras are excellent. I have the 3m ClearBra on my 2000 S4. It is an excellent investment. I have two chips in the bra from stones. The bra has the damage only - not the paint.

If you wash and wax the car properly, you won't see the bar unless you are close up. If you aren't good at removing excess wax, then the bra may get a line of dirty wax along the edge. Then you will see an outline of the bra. That is the only negative I would ever say about the bra.

There are a couple of good bras on the market. They come in many forms and sizes. Look to get a full coverage that includes side mirrors. Make sure you get a good installer - that's where the money should go.

What's the difference between the Transparent Bra that is advertised on this forum and the one from 3M?

Anyone know of a good installer in the Los Angeles county area?

That ad is not very comprehensive. I'd like to know what material is used and how thick it is.... and who really makes it.

If you want the best material for looks and durability than look at Venture Shield. The Material is self healing so if it gets little pits the material will heal itself over a few days in the sun. www.invisiblepatterns.com

Cb to answer your question, all 8 Mil US 3M film is the same. The only difference you would have from one brand clear bra to another would be their design pattern.

Dont buy "kits" from eBay, some people are selling kits using the Euro 3M film that do NOT have a clear coat.

Abacab, I do tri-state installs. I also do at home installs at well. Shoot me a private email if you have questions or would like to see some pics of recent installs.
