the window drop on my 01 tt stopped working.when i open the door the window will not drop the 1 inch that it is supposed to do.how do i fix this?thanks sully

see if the dome light is working when you open the door.
if it isn't it's the door latch it comes with the module that controls the window and the dome lights

 

Also check to make sure you auto up is programmed. If you lost battery power both the auto up and the open drop functions are lost.

 

I have the same problem with my 01 TT. My battery died a few months back because I left my lights on all day while at work. Ever since then my automatic window drop doesn't work... How do you program the auto up? Why does my passenger side auto up still work than?

 

I had a similar issue and I was able to fix this with just "re-training" the window on my 2000 TT 180t coupe.

I followed these steps that I found posted somewhere on this site:

1) key on and open the door
2) roll the window all the way up. (this may require pulling the switch several times. My window would stop about a one-third of the way up and then again two-thirds up each time I pulled on the switch)
3) once the window is all the way up, release the switch and pull it up again and hold for 5 seconds.
4) push the switch to roll the window down all the way.
5) once the window is down all the way, release the switch and hold is down again for 5 seconds.
6) release and pull the switch to raise the window. (the window should go up without stopping and the window should auto drop since the door is open)

Doing this fixed:
Window stopping at 1/3 and 2/3 the way going up
auto up not working
auto window drop not working
