<FONT face="Courier New, Courier, mono">Rebuilt alternator andnew battery did not phase this. Voltmeter does not reach 12 volts indicated before starter is engaged. Subsequent readings on in-dash voltmeter when engine is operating isless than 12 volts on car's guage but +/- 12.8 volts off alternator on separate meter.When cooling fan and A/C compressor kick on, guage indicates about 8 or 9 volts.Any ideas from someone who's been there?</FONT></P>
