I have two Audi cars. Looking for some help on two different issues on each car. First:
1993 100 CS, The headlights just went out and I replaced them only to have them go out after a couple of hours at the same time. I haven't popped the hood yet to see where the wires go or tried to diagnose it yet. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a quick fix (checked the fuses already in the side door) Checking the engine bay this week.

Second:
My 96 A6 Quattro's Warning Chime won't go on when you leave the keys in the car or leave the headlights on. Is this just a simple setting in the car computer accessed in the center A column? Anybody know?

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

 

I had a problem with a, don't laugh, 100LS (yes, it was a long time ago) in which the low beams would fail due to overheating in the relay panel. Because the relay in this panel was for high beams, I had to assume the wiring for the low beams passed through the panel and/or relay. I think I ended up replacing the panel. Either that or I traded the car for the Scirocco before I fixed it...

There is a relay for chimes under the dash on the driver's side. There is another relay panel there. You have to unbolt the upholstered knee panel and black plastic cover panel to get access. Could just be a bad relay.

I probably didn't raelly answer your first question. I'd have a tech check out the wiring and relay at the relay panel. Electrical problems are hard to chase down. It has to done by process of elimination.
