Default 1997 AUDI 80 CAB ..BREAKING ABS PROBS




HEY EVERYONE....WHEN IBREAK JUST WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A FULL STOP THE ABS SEEMS TO KICK IN AND MAKES THE PEDDEL COME BACK UP?

BUT SOMETIMES THE ORANGE ABS LIGHT COMES UP ON THE DASH AND WHEN IT'S ON THE CAR STOPS FINE
WHATS ALL THAT ABOUT ANYONE KNOW ?

You definitely have an ABS problem. Pull the codes from the OBD-II coonnector, sounds like the ABS control module. Not the easiest to diagnose/ fix unless you're a Audi tech, take it to the pros.

Thanks for that I have a code reader but I can't find the OBD2 socket would you know where that is ?...Thanks Chris

the obdII plug is on the left on the steering wheel most of the way down you should see it down there

I have taken the cover off and can't see it anywhere around the steering wheel....is it on the pasenger side i haven't looked that side yet it started to rain ......

in some european cars, it's behind the ashtray (which you have to take out in order to reach it.) in my a6 it's actually right in the open in between my shifter and my cup holders in the center area. it goes in and serves as a place to put things ( i put my mp3 player there!) check out behind the ashtray if you can, if not, try asking a tech, maybe in the forum dedicated to your specific model. oh yeah, also, try bentley publishings audi forums, they go by specific models and have plenty of tech information from their users. great reference forum.
