2000 a4 1.8t freon hose
Whats banking everyone? i'm new to the audi lifestyle i just purchased a 2000 a4 1.8t 5speed and i was enjoying my driving experience whenmy ac started blowing warm. i took it to check if i just needed freon and of course the stealer told me i need a high pressure hose from the compressor to condenser. parts and labor 700+[>:].I found the part on rockauto.com for 160 are so and i was wondering if i had to done somewhere else would it be wise??? has anyone had to do this keep of repair b4 what the average turn around time? how much in labor should i look to be quoted?is the audi ac much different that work can only be done through the dealer? keep in mind i just moved to florida from new york so the heat is not exactly my cup of tea.
thats what i figured i can buy the part from rockauto.com and have a local shop install it. but i read some sticker under the hood that have a diagram of the ac components and was wondering if the ac have to be worked on by the dealer are can it be done by local shops. i owned a 5series bmw and it was hard having stuff done by local shop due to the fact the computer had to be reset after every little thing done the the car i was wondering since audi is in the german line of cars if this is the case as well.
air conditioning service aslong as it doesn't concern the A/C control unit in your center counsel can be done at any shop that is certified to do air conditioning.
I recommend to buy the part from Audi... and if you must save money somewhere... thentake it to a local shop.
i used to make "custom" air conditioning lines for school buses and... there is really no substitute for thedealer bought stuff... they make 600.00 crimping tools that are 12 points... and they make 200.00 tools that crimp 6 points... andwhere money is saved usually sacrifices quality.
