Hey Everyone, have a 2002 A4 3.0 with a little over 200k. Started throwing an EPC code, all the research I've done has had really various results from minor to major issues.

It drives fine most of the time, but every now and then something triggers the code and the car sort of chokes. When the code is up it idles at 1100 RPMS vs. the usual 800, and it won't rev past 4000 RPMs in any gear. Then, if I turn it off and let it sit for a few hours, it starts right back up and drives fine. Typically the issue comes after about 30 min. of city driving. Seems like it should be a small fix given that the car drives totally fine (no power loss, no weird brake activity, etc), but I'm no expert. I know the EPC code registers a variety of issues, but does anyone have an experience with this specific problem.

I have a 2007 A4 3.2L Quattro that is doing this too. I took it to the dealer who tells me it is throwing the cold start misfire code, and gives me some G17. But the epc light comes on after the engine is already hot, and as far as I can tell, it is running smooth b4 and after the light comes on.
