Hey all,
My dad was driving his 2000 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t home on the freeway when:

First his battery light came on, about 5 minutes later his abs light came on, and a couple minutes later his brake light came on...and then the rear wheels locked up for a few seconds. he was able to baby it to a rest area a few hundred feet down the road where it idled for a few minutes then died. now the car is dead in the water...

has anyone experienced this before? any ideas to what it could be?

oh and another symptom....

the car will start with a jump. but then dies as soon as you remove the battery cables.
while running the air bag light and the battery light stay on...

anyone?
