Love my car and I want to do some of my own repairs. Who better but the owner. I am nota noviceto repairing German cars, I started at age 16 with a 1965 VW bug. I am 39 now and have owned a German automobile since 16. I have two issues to address.

I want some advice on the best price to quality product for the pads, I do city driving, living in Los Angeles, it is a lot of stop and go. I garage the car so I do not want to have to wash the car every other day because of brake dust. I have seen many choices on the web but have not made a choice as yet, love to hear from an Audi owner before I make the choice.

On the replacing of the pads, I will follow the process of removingthe calipers but am worried about using a "C" clamp to compress the cylindars. Should I worry or just proceed as normal. I read a post abount a 1999 brakereplacement processand need to know if the process is the same for a 2005.
