2007 S8 V10 Intermittent Misfire Cyl 7
I'm getting an intermittent misfire on cylinder 7. Changed the coil pack and plug and reset the check engine light. Was OK for about a week. Then the check engine light blinked and remained on. Changed the plug and coil again and reset the light. OK for a couple of days and came back on.
My next move is to swap the coil and plug with the adjacent cylinder to see if the problem follows the new coil. BTW, the coil is an Intermotor UF529 and the plug is an NGK PFR6W-TG 5547.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

You can move the coil pack to another cylinder but I'd recommend changing all the spark plugs. A couple of years ago, I fought that battle a couple of years ago and discovered a couple or three glazed spark plugs (I think it was all initially caused by an O2 sensor going bad). Pull all the plugs, if ANY of them (except the one you just replaced) looks BRAND spankin' new, it's glazed and will produce a very weak spark causing misfires. Especially as you are accelerating. The spark is not powerful enough to ignite the fuel/air coming into the cylinder and effectively fouls the plug momentarily causing a misfire of sorts.
