Default 2012 p101 and p2188

Hi guys,

I have an Audi A3 2012 2.0TFSI and I have codes 101 and 2188 and the miles per gallon has dropped 2 to 3 miles per gallon. I think that the LT FTRM1 is too high.

abslt tps 12.9%
eng speed 762 rpm
MAF 3.80 LB/M
ST FTRM1 -2.3%
LT FTRM1 -21.9%

I have replaced the MAF sensor and DV valve recently. I can also hear a little noise like a whisper under the hook when I accelerate. I have checked for air vacuum leeks with carb cleaner and nothing happened.

I have also checked hoses to the air intake system and the PCV disk. The PCV disk seems that it is fine. I could not check the hoses that it is the output in the throttle bottle because it is not easy to access.

Do you have any suggestion? I will make an appointment with the mechanic.

Thanks!

Did you clear the codes and reset the ECU? I'd reset it to clear out any crap data that the ECU might be using from the bad MAF. If there is a vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator, check it for cracks or leaking. The rich at idle (P2188 code) can point to a possible issue with the fuel pressure (99% of the time it's the vacuum hose to them) or a leaky injector (more difficult to track down). But the "whisper" you mention leads me to believe there is a vacuum leak. It could be small enough to cause an issue but not large enough to allow enough of the carb cleaner to be sucked into the intake when you were testing for it..

Thanks Dave,

I did clear the codes and they went of again. I will check if there is any hose in the fuel pressure regulator (I have to find it first and I have not seen it in Google yet). I will post when check it.

Thanks!

The pressure regulator should be on the fuel rail with the injectors, usually where the fuel lines connect. One line is the supply, the other is the return back to the tank. The regulator is usually on the return side.
