2013 2.0 TDI A5 Manual revs while driving
Hi
I have a 2013 2.0 TDI A5 Cab, manual. For about 18 months now it has been revving when I accelerate in 3rd or 4th at about 2,500 rpm every now and again the power goes and the revs go up as if I've pressed the clutch. I've realised it tends to be going up a hill and it's been doing it longer than I thought because at first I thought it was simply the traction control dropping the power (didnt look for the abs light coming on) it's only for a second and if I hold the accelerator in position drive returns and all is normal. Recently on the usual hill following a sharp bend on the way to work it did it twice together before drive returned so I'm thinking I need to sort it. Not being a mechanic I was think clutch but it's only done 52,000 and I am mr clutch....straight into neutral when not moving and I've never had a clutch go in 28 years driving. Somebody mentioned crank sensors to me? It's due a cam belt change but dont want to pay out for that if I have some mysterious unfixable issue? I always thought when a clutch starts to go within weeks your car simply wont move and there would be a burning smell?
Thanks for reading.
