I don t have paddle shifters. I m assuming the car is going to shift automatically with no issues? And they are optional?

That's not "sport" mode if it's over to the right. That's more like a manual mode. However the transmission computer will do some shifting for you. Like when you come to a stop, it will shift the trans to 2nd to pull out but it will stay in 2nd until you push the shifter forward (+) once per gear... You can also downshift on the fly by pulling back on it. I use this on downhill slopes to hold my A8 back from going 90 by the time I reach the bottom without riding the brakes..
