In addition to the previous post, these are a few problems I'm having:

1. Car has trouble starting when I fill up with gas. Won't start and I have to pump the gas peddle to get it to start. Audi found nothing wrong! Anybody familiar with this?

2. Strange "grinding" sound coming from hood area. Only happens when I'm in a low gear at a higher RPM and let off the gas. Actually, more like a "whrrr whrr whrr" sound! (Hope that description makes sense!) Anyone else?

Those are the two major problems for now! Thanks for any responses!

Helps to know what year, and model your car is....... Any fault codes?

 

My bad! '03 A4 1.8T..............No fault codes. I took it in to Audi for the gas problem and no code came up and of course the problem never occurred when they had it. The second problem has just been something I've been noticing within the last few weeks.

 

Well pumping the gas won't do anything to help start the car, it doesn't have a carburetor. However it has an electronic throttle body, so it could be the throttle valve is sticking. If you have a vag com you can check the percentage of the valve opening, if not take off the intake hose and have someone push down the gas pedal while you check the valve to see if it opens and closes correctly. That could also be the source of the noise.
