Default '96 A4 randomly died and wont restart, no codes, please help!

Hello everyone, new to the board. the Audi A4 that I'm having a problem with isn't mine, but a close friends. It randomly died turning a corner today and It started up and ran for a few seconds and then shut off again. We tow'd it to my house and once there it started but ran real rough around 200rpms, trying to run. I can't seem to find where the relays are located at and I'm totally new to the Audi world. I check for codes and it didn't find any. The In2 light is flashing but it's been doing that for over 1500 miles. we unhook'd the battery for 10-15 minutes and then rehook'd it and it started up and ran fine for about 5-6 seconds and then shut off again and couldn't restart. We then check'd to see if there was any spark and we found there to be none... I then check the fuel pressure by unhooking a fuel line and turning the car over and none came out. Is there a EFI relay that may have gone bad for niether the spark or fuel pump not to work properly or at wierd/random times? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for the time.
Dustin

you sound like you know a little something about cars so ill ask this, did you listen for the fuel pump? if the pump is running then look at coilpacks, this is a common problem with these cars.

well, having no fuel coming through the lines leads me to believe that it's not working. The only thing that makes a noise when the key is turn'd to the on positionis a shiny metal box under the hood on the drivers side with vacuum lines coming off of it. Is there an EFI fus/relay located somewhere? where are the relays located at on this car? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

thanks for the relay locations. I'm guessing that it's the same spot for the LHD version? What one is the EFI relay? thanks much.
