Sorry I could not figure out how to add to old post. I have a 99 1.8t a4. IWhen I replaced the gasket between turbo and cat I broke a stud. In removing the turbo I broke one of the three mounting studs. I took i t and had it machined and reinstalled. When I went to reinstall the turbo I noticed the factory pcv coming out of the block was cracked so I replaced it with one from 034 motorsports. Everything back together and I have 0 boost pressure (had 15-17psi before). The car runs fine, like a 1.8 normally aspirated. Due to the cold weather I took it to a shop. They checked and no boost leaks but said the boost is coming out the dipstick and the oil filler hole. They are saying that I either have a stuck valve or bad rings. They said the compression ranges between 62 to 70 between the cylinders. I question this because they did a compression test, boost leak test, tried replacing the n75 valve (which was new) and fixed a loose hose on the dv valve all for one hour labor. My problem with their theory is that the car went from.running great with 15-17psi to no boost and the car runs OK other than that. It does not smoke, does not burn oil...it.seems like it would have a lot more.problems. Any ideas would be appreciated.
